Hi when I will return to india from UK I am planning to convert British pounds to Indian rupees within UK on the airport so how much rupees cash can I carry with me I am planning to get about 20 Thousand in cash while I'll travel to India so is it allowed to carry such amount of money in cash is NO please tell me the limit of cash that I can Cary on my way to India please reply thanks...

Leaving the United Kingdom to a non-EU country:

Cash of a value of €10,000 or more or its equivalent in other currencies [£7,273; Rs.7,09,831] must be declared and a declaration form must be filled.

India - Currency Import regulations:

Foreign currencies: unlimited, however, amounts exceeding USD 5,000.- (or equivalent) in cash [£3,284], or USD 10,000.- (or equivalent) in traveller's cheques must be declared;

Local currency (Indian Rupee-INR): Import of INR is prohibited, except for residents of India importing up to INR 7,500/-
